Steef Bouwman (1998) studeerde aan de School voor Journalistiek in Utrecht. Gelijktijdig volgde hij de KRO-NCRV Radioschool en liep hij podia bij RTV Utrecht en Nieuwsuur. In 2021 begon hij af en in jaar hetzelfde bij de NOS.
Zijn loopbaan begon bij het NOS/NTR-programma Nieuwsuur, als redacteur op de online-redactie. Al snel ging hij ook aan de slag als redacteur/verslaggever bij NOS Stories, het jongerenplatform van de NOS.
Nieuwsonderwerpen wist hij bij Stories – van feel good en luchtig tot ellendig en zwaar –in korte video’s duidelijk uit te leggen. In video’s, zoals dit over vuurwapengeweld onder jongeren, dook hij meer op de achtergrond. Verder bereidde hij de interviews met minister-president Mark Rutte en Dick Schoof voor, en deed hij live-verslag van het mbo-evenement Skills the Finals.
Bij NOS op 3 was hij de belangrijkste maker en presentator van de podcast Lang Verhaal Kort. Daarnaast was hij betrokken bij de verkiezingsshows van NOS op 3, in de aanloop naar de Tweede Kamerverkiezingen in 2023.
Ook was hij een van de redacteuren bij het NOS-programma rondom de historische NAVO-top in Den Haag in 2025. En hij akte voor het radioverslag van de Olympische Winterspelen in Italië.
